Leading Journal of the Irish & UK Fishing Industries

After a very successful Irish Skipper Expo, with lots of purposeful discussions about water safety and demonstrations, the RNLI are once again looking forward to attending the Scottish Skipper Expo.

The RNLI have supported the Skipper Exhibitions since they first began in 2005 in Galway, providing much needed support to fishermen to ensure that safety remains at the fore of all industry operations.

Frankie Horne, Fishing Safety Manager with the RNLI remarked, “The event in Limerick this year was well supported by industry on both days which proved the move to a larger venue was needed. The 2022 Scottish Skipper Expo had the same sentiment with the new venue proving to be much easier to access, resulting in a very busy Expo for our team – we are very much looking forward to this year’s show.”

As well as providing a base for much needed safety related discussions with fishermen and like-minded organisations at the Scottish Skipper Expo, the team will also be running some In-Water Life Jacket and Man Overboard Recovery practical sessions in the two days prior to the event with Seafish in the AIS Survivex Centre at Dyce, Aberdeen.

In reference to their stand at the Expo Frankie says, “We look forward to welcoming you all to stand 113. Visitors will have the opportunity to win a great prize simply by answering some water safety related questions, testing their knowledge on safety equipment. We had two lucky winners at the Limerick Skipper Expo who certainly knew their stuff when it comes to safety, and we have no doubt the Aberdeen visitors will be every bit as knowledgeable.”

Thanks to Mullion Survival Technology and The Skipper for supplying the winning prizes.

We look forward to seeing you there.
