Leading Journal of the Irish & UK Fishing Industries

Much interest was shown by fishermen in the Morgère range of trawl doors at last year’s Expo and the company is looking to build upon this success at Irish Skipper Expo 2023.

Trawl doors from Morgère are ideally suited for the challenging fishing conditions found around Ireland, providing excellent results for fishermen due to their strength and versatility.

At this year’s Expo, Morgère will be promoting its popular Exocet New trawl door with its innovative design, which provides optimal fishing performance, including good spread and low drag to ensure excellent fuel economy.  Morgère will also be displaying its new design of semi-pelagic Osprey New trawl door, which can be worked on and off the seabed. The Osprey New offers even better spread and stability than before with lower drag.

Exocet New and Osprey New are incredibly versatile and can be used in a variety of demersal fisheries. A key advantage of both types of door is their strength, enabling them to be utilised with confidence in the most challenging of fishing conditions. Exocet New and Osprey New are available in a range of different sizes, making them the perfect choice for large and smaller trawlers. Morgère’s range of Ovalfoil doors also deliver excellent results for fishermen.

Morgère trawl doors feature a new vibrant yellow livery, which ensures enhanced visibility for fishing operations at night. The yellow trawls doors are easier for crew to see when working on deck in the hours of darkness, which will help make fishing operations safer.

Morgère is committed to continually innovating and investing in new designs and technologies to ensure their trawl doors consistently provide excellent results. The company works closely with fishermen on their new design developments to ensure they meet their specific requirements.

Excellent customer service is the number one priority of Morgère, and their engineers can provide advice and technical assistance to fishermen to ensure they achieve the optimum performance from their trawl doors.

Pascal Reverseau, managing director of Morgère, says: “Our company has over 120 years of experience in developing and manufacturing high-quality trawl doors with exceptional strength, and the products we produce are well-suited for Irish fisheries. Irish Skipper Expo 2023 promises to be a fantastic event and we are really looking forward to the show.  Please come and visit our stand N° 75 where we will be delighted to explain to skippers the many benefits that our versatile trawl door range provides.”
