Momentum Builds Following Successful Seawork Meetings

Sharon Boyle, Commercial Fishing Manager at Mara Media, returned from the Seawork Exhibition in Southampton (10–12 June 2025) with a diary full of productive face-to-face meetings and a reaffirmed commitment to the forthcoming Scottish Skipper Expo 2026.

“Seawork provided an invaluable platform to engage personally with both long-standing exhibitors and companies looking to join us for the first time,” Ms Boyle remarked. “The level of interest and constructive feedback reaffirm the Expo’s standing as a cornerstone event for the commercial fishing sector.”

Over the three-day show, Ms Boyle met with more than sixty companies, many of whom have already signalled their intention to reserve stand space. Discussions also centred on advertising and editorial opportunities within The Skipper, ensuring continued coverage of the innovations and challenges shaping the industry.

Looking ahead, Ms Boyle’s next international visit will be to DanFish International in Aalborg this October. This event will provide another key opportunity to connect with global stakeholders, promote Scottish Skipper Expo 2026, and continue building strong relationships for The Skipper newspaper.

With preparations well under way for the next Scottish Skipper Expo—set to return to Aberdeen in May 2026—Sharon is confident that the strong relationships forged at Seawork will translate into another vibrant gathering for fishermen, suppliers, and industry stakeholders alike.
