Errigal Training Centre based in Falcarragh, Co Donegal is Ireland’s only Dedicated Training Centre accredited by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO).
From providing mandatory safety training that forms the basis for personnel working in or seeking to gain employment in the Wind Energy & Renewables Sectors, Errigal Training Centre are also the only Centre on the Island of Ireland where you can complete your required Medicals at the same time as your training.
The company opened its doors in May 2021, having been delayed for a full year by Covid and has grown significantly in a short space of time. Owner and trainer, Frankie Veldman speaks of the global success the company has experienced to date.
“We have trained over 1000 people across the various modules and our customers are a mix of Irish and Global companies as well as individuals, some of whom have travelled from as far away as Spain & South Africa.
“The fact that we are the only Centre who operate these courses & medicals weekly, and also provide an attractive accommodation package, makes us a very popular choice as a Training Provider. This past 12 months, we have seen a marked increase in new companies availing of our services, and also returning customers which is always a good sign.”
Errigal Training Centre will be exhibiting at the Irish Skipper Expo for the first time in 2023, believing that the event is the perfect place to meet people face to face and discuss training opportunities.
“Up until now, the majority of our marketing and meetings has been virtual and whilst our website holds a lot of information, nothing beats being there. We are also looking forward to meeting other companies in this space and forging new relationships.”
As well the Errigal Training Centre team being on hand to give their expert advice on courses and career opportunities within the Wind Energy and Renewables sectors, they will also have a fantastic prize on offer to all those who visit their stand.
“We understand that many of those involved in the commercial fishing sector are interested in finding out more information on the training required to extend their careers into the offshore sector. As well as the current list of courses on offer at Errigal Training Centre, they will be adding further GWO courses and other accreditations to their suite over the next 12 months. As well as this, having the facilities to carry out medicals during the training courses continues to be a major benefit.
Frankie explains, “We also provide Industry Medicals, namely OGUK/RUK/ENG11 & Chester Step. That is another great benefit to our customers, rather than having to travel to separate locations to do their training and medical, they get it all under the one roof in the one week or by appointment.”
Errigal Training Centre have been selected by a number of the key Energy companies to provide training to their Staff and have also partnered with local companies such as Eirteck Energy Partners, Lagan Energy Engineering & Mourne Access Solutions.
“Our growth in the past 18months has allowed us add to our full-time staff and we will be taking on a number of new staff in 2023 as we onboard more courses.”
