Atlantic Treasures Fish Stop will have their official opening this weekend.

The new fish shop based out of the fishing harbour of Killybegs are to have their official opening this weekend Saturday 12th October from 2pm until 5pm with all welcome to attend throughout the day.

The Fish Stop supplies an extensive range of quality fresh fish, various frozen seafood including over a dozen types of prawns and their own award-winning smoked and marinated products. A further range of Donegal produce is available including Shines Tuna, Quality Sea Veg, Algaran Seaweed Products and Filligans Jams which were all picked to complement various dishes.

The concept of the Fish Stop, which was supported by Donegal County Council’s Town and Village Renewal Scheme with help from the Killybegs Regeneration Group & Killybegs Community Council as part of an overall town regeneration project, is to take the hard work out of seafood, with the option of supplying each species in ovenable bags with a range of delicious glazes and seasonings to tempt the senses of the customer. Products can also be vacuum packed for convenience in-store in the event the customer is travelling or wants to freeze for later.

At the opening tomorrow, there will be music by local musician, under 12’s Donegal county champion fiddle player, Brandon Shovlin from 2pm until 3pm. The official opening by RTE Chef Brian Mc Dermott is at 3.30pm and he will demonstrate a seafood dish at 4pm. There will be a selection of wine and seafood for tasting along with Guinness & Oysters throughout the day. Slieve Liag Distillers famous An Dúlamán Gin will also be served.
