Leading Journal of the Irish & UK Fishing Industries

This weekend marks the return of the country’s flagship fishing exhibition, the Irish Skipper Expo at the UL Sport Arena Limerick.

Taking place one month earlier on Friday 24th & Saturday 25th February, the sell-out commercial fishing exhibition features a huge variety of exhibitors from across the world, showcasing the latest high-quality fishing products and services.

Sponsored by Irish seafood development agency, BIM, and leading marine insurer Arachas, the event highlights the passion and professionalism of the Irish fishing industry.

Sharon Boyle, Commercial Fishing Manager with show organisers, Mara Media explains, “We are thrilled to bring you a sell-out show this year, with an astounding 34 first-time exhibiting companies added to the list of over 140 companies, highlighting the enthusiasm that remains in the industry despite a tumultuous few years.

“The show will feature a fantastic range of products and services from the world’s leading marine brands.  We have a huge variety of exhibiting companies this year, with every product and service represented – from shipyards to marine electronics, deck machinery, trawl gear and creels, as well as catch handling systems, insurance services and offshore wind energy.”

A number of vessels will also be on display in the outside arena, giving visitors the opportunity to see, at first-hand, some of the latest fishing vessel designs on the market. The outside area will also feature displays from the Coastguard and BIM’s Coastal Training Unit, as well as engines, rigging and handling solutions.

Doors open at 10am on Friday morning, with the venue set to welcome a large number of visitors across the two-day show.

Registration to the Irish Skipper Expo is free, and while the online registration feature has now closed, visitors can register on site at the UL Sport Arena on the day.
