Irish Skipper Expo 2027 Returning to Galway

Mara Media, organisers of the Irish Skipper Expo are pleased to confirm that the event will take place at the High-Performance Centre, Dexcom Stadium, Galway, on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th May 2027, reaffirming Galway’s long-standing connection with the Irish Skipper Expo, where the event was first established in 2007.

First established in Galway in 2007, the Expo has grown steadily over the years to become one of the most important meeting points for the commercial fishing sector. Following a successful period in Limerick, the event will now return to its original home, marking a natural next step in its continued development.

Held biennially, Irish Skipper Expo brings together fishermen, vessel owners, suppliers, and service providers from across Ireland and beyond. Galway has consistently delivered a well-supported and well-attended show, with its location offering excellent access for coastal communities and industry professionals alike.

The move to the High-Performance Centre at Dexcom Stadium — home of Connacht Rugby — provides a modern, purpose-built facility that will support the continued growth and development of the Expo.

As the industry continues to evolve, the Expo remains firmly focused on what matters most — face-to-face engagement, showcasing innovation, and supporting the strength of the fishing community.

“We have taken the time to listen carefully to industry feedback and felt it was important to wait for the new venue at Dexcom to be fully ready before confirming our plans,” said Sharon Boyle, Commercial Fishing Manager at The Skipper.

“Galway has always been a natural home for the Expo, and we are delighted to bring this news to the industry. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2027 for what we are confident will be a well-supported and worthwhile event for all involved.”

Building on the success of previous events, Irish Skipper Expo 2027 will once again feature a comprehensive range of exhibitors, representing all areas of the industry — from vessel equipment and marine technology to safety, services, and seafood processing.

Anyone interested in being part of Irish Skipper Expo 2027 is strongly encouraged to register their interest at this early stage by contacting Sharon Boyle directly. With planning already underway, this is an ideal time to signal your intention to be involved.

Further details will be released in the coming months, with much more information to follow as the show continues to take shape.
