Leading Journal of the Irish & UK Fishing Industries

Clements Engineering recently came to the rescue of a Scottish fishing boat, the recently renamed Chance K77, run by Scalloway’s QA Fish Limited.

While out fishing, their shaft snapped and they lost their propeller. Fortunately, the propeller had been lost over an area they knew was popular for scallops and sent a diver down who managed to retrieve the propeller!

The propeller found, they contacted Clements Engineering and upgraded to a 2″ shaft, with Clements also provided them with new couplings to suit.

Good to help get a fishing boat business back working as quickly as possible, they said.

Indeed, throughout the recent crisis Clements have continued to manufacture at their Bedfordshire plant, ensuring that working vessels can get back on the water as quickly as possible.
