A monster wave measuring 30 Mtr – 98.4 Ft was recorded at 03:00 today by the Marine Institute M6 buoy located 200nm West of Ireland.
The wave generated by the tail end of Hurricane Epsilon was one of the highest ever recorded in Irish waters
The network is managed by the Marine Institute in collaboration with Met Ăireann and the UK Met Office. The Irish Weather Buoy Network is designed to improve weather forecasts and safety at sea around Ireland. The buoy network provides vital data for weather forecasts, shipping bulletins, gale and swell warnings as well as data for general public information and research.
wow
Great information
Is this official and was the buoy calibrated recently? Itâs strange that there isnât more hype around this if it is a world record.
Ufattelig højde,- er der nogen billeder -?
Only a record in Irish waters
Should be a freak wave …
WOW love to see that.
Phenomenal.
You’ve obviously never watched deadliest catch
My sister tells me it was the 5g effect and Bill Gates has a wave of vaccines coming that account for this.

Ive seen one..took me wheelhouse windows out
Rouge waves typically have a short life span because they are made of multiple waves, when they get out of sync, they go back to their individual smaller sizes. I was having a grand time last night watching earth.nullschool.net and there was some sort of unusual storm conditions out there.
This guy seems to have surfed it! Haha, got to love surfers for their laid back cool!

At 98.4 feet that has to be one of the highest waves ever recorded. Depending where it came ashore (if its true) the area from Malin head down to sligo would be underwater I would think?
I would rather not see it, thanks …
Scary , no matter what you are sailing 30 mtrs will rock the boat đ
đ
The wave was the highest recorded in the Irish waters đ
There was an old man from Limerick,
Might have been Bill, might have been Rick,
Was worried about a tsunami,
The thought nearly drove him barmy,
Will he float, or will he sink, like a brick?
What happens if this wave gets to the coast? Do you believe ireland is gonna disappear?
It is the earth trying to get rid of Ireland because he has a gold course there.
The article clears notes âthe largest recorded in Irish watersâ đ
Not a record of any type just “one of the highest” recorded.
Thatâs what I thought
Not if you are on a sailboat at the time.
When did they begin recording?
And you have no trouble saying that, without the slightest hint of embarassment?
Indeed. looks like such a freak wave.
I agree!
The network is managed by the Marine Institute = Half the Buoys are never working and their website is a nightmare to find anything in!
Aye. Can be nasty around there. And it is NOT the place to get propped. Did that with Louie Dillon. What a day. RIP skip.
