Tom, a third-generation fisherman hailing from Newlyn, joins the ranks of the XT Crew with his extensive experience and passion for the fishing industry.
As the skipper and owner of My Lass PZ 291, Tom embodies a deep-rooted connection to the sea, with his family immersed in the fishing trade for generations. Despite studying Chemistry at Cardiff University, Tom’s love for the ocean drew him back to his family’s legacy, where he now spends his summers fishing for lobster and spider crab, and the remainder of the year crewing on the Lyonesse PZ 81, fishing for Cornish sardines.
Tom’s dedication to the fishing industry extends beyond his own vessel, as he actively participates in the Cornish Fish Producers’ Organisation’s Youth Board. Together with other young fishermen, Tom works towards advancing initiatives such as the fishing apprenticeship scheme, aimed at nurturing the next generation of fisherman.
Through his engaging presence on social media, Tom showcases the practicality and durability of XTRATUF boots while sharing insights into the daily life of a commercial fisherman. His genuine enthusiasm for the brand and the fishing community caught the attention of XTRATUF, leading to a collaboration where Tom provides valuable feedback on the footwear’s performance.
