Leading Journal of the Irish & UK Fishing Industries

Born on the seas of Alaska where 50-foot swells swallowed the slightest missteps, XTRATUF boots are just that, extra tough. For more than 50 years, XTRATUF has been outfitting commercial fishermen and women, and earned the respect, loyalty and trust of people who can’t afford to take trust lightly. All XTRATUF footwear features the signature non-marking, slip-resistant Chevron outsoles.

Offering the same Alaska proven functionality of XTRATUF’s iconic best-selling Legacy boot, the S5-certified Legacy NXT S5 safety boot has been designed with the modern-day commercial fisherman in mind. The boot features a steel toecap, ensuring it meets EN ISO 20345 – 2011 safety regulations, as well as a reinforced ankle and heel for added durability and a dual density midsole for additional underfoot cushioning for all day comfort. The NXT S5 is also 100% waterproof and made with XTRATUF’s signature triple dipping technique, which creates a seamless and flexible barrier that is highly resistant to many organic and inorganic acids, chemicals and contaminants. Staying true to its Legacy DNA, the NXT S5 comes with a non-marking, slip-resistant Chevron outsole, providing unparalleled traction in the most extreme conditions. The NXT S5 has been PERFORMANCE-TESTED AND PROVEN across the toughest stretches of water and is as reliable and tough as it gets – keeping you dry, stable, and always working comfortably.

The Legacy NXT S5 is £150, available in sizes 5-14.

The Fishermen’s Mission

XTRATUF is honoured to be working with The Fishermen’s Mission – the only national charity supporting our fishermen, their families, and communities, since 1981. The Fishermen’s Mission reaches out to both active and retired fishermen by providing practical, spiritual, and financial support – as well as a vital emergency response service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The support provided is varied, including financial assistance, emotional support for bereaved families, welfare visits to combat loneliness as well as emergency responses to injured, ill or shipwrecked fishermen.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with the team at XTRATUF on this fundraising initiative. This not only gives us another way of raising valuable funds for the fishermen and fishing communities in the UK, but also provides a further way of creating awareness for the industry and the work carried out by the charity.”

To show its support to the fishermen who risk their lives to bring fish to our shores, XTRATUF will be making a donation from each pair of their Commercial Range boots sold.
