Leading Journal of the Irish & UK Fishing Industries

With the Irish and Scottish Skipper Expos centred on the foundation of, ‘Your Industry, Your Show,’ the team spent the summer months reviewing feedback, liaising with industry leaders and attending international events to enhance the overall show experience for exhibitors and visitors.

Sharon Boyle, Commercial Fishing Manager at The Skipper, attended Seawork in Southampton and Nor-Fishing in Trondheim where she met with new and existing customers recently.

“Attending other essential events and fairs in the international fishing industry has always been very important to us – not only does it allow us to catch up with some of our existing exhibitors, but it also gives us the opportunity to meet new exhibitors who would be of value to our visitors.”

As well as attending international shows, the Skipper team recently undertook a road trip in Scotland, where they met with a host of industry leaders across the Northeast, with their valuable input ensuring that the Scottish Skipper Expo continues to be the leading showcase of the commercial fishing industry in the country.

Recognising the changing nature of the industry, the Skipper team want to ensure that both the Irish and Skipper expos fully represent the needs of the visitors. Continuing consultation with other agencies will see further additions to the shows, including the recent announcement that the IFA Aquaculture Conference and AGM will take place in the Kilmurry Lodge Limerick on the 23rd February, the eve of the Irish Skipper Expo.

Keep an eye on the Skipper website and the Skipper Expos social media pages over the next few months for further announcements.
