Leading Journal of the Irish & UK Fishing Industries

Set to take place at UL Sports Arena, Limerick on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th February, the plans are now in place for Irish Skipper Expo 2024. With over 85 companies confirmed to date, it promises to be a fantastic event that showcases the highest quality products and services in the industry.

Despite the challenges faced in recent years, the show continues to be a celebration of the optimism for the future of the industry, offering fishermen the opportunity to meet manufacturers and service providers in a face-to-face setting.

The spacious exhibition hall at UL allows for a fantastic variety of stand and outside boat displays, making the show the perfect one-stop-shop for consumers, as well as a great day out for the entire family to enjoy.

Exhibitor JRD Field of O’Sullivan Marine praised the 2023 show saying, “Great show with an optimal networking opportunity for businesses to share ideas and strategies. Well organized by a super team with ample support given to exhibitors. An excellent venue for this type of event.”

While the Irish Skipper Expo is renowned within the fishing industry as a fantastic place to carry out business in a professional and relaxed setting, it is also widely known as a social event where colleagues and business associates can meet up and enjoy the weekend together.

Sharon Boyle, Commercial Fishing Manager for event organiser Mara Media, explained the revised plans for the Show Reception this year:

“We would like to enhance the social element of the event this year and as such, The George Hotel in the city centre will become the base and also the venue for the Show Reception on Friday 23rd February. This will give visitors and exhibitors the opportunity to explore Limerick when the show ends each day.

“We are delighted with the response to stand sales at such an early stage this year. As well as all of the leading marine companies who have been attending the show for many years, we also have a number of new companies who recognise the value of the event as the only commercial fishing exhibition in Ireland.”

With a notable 27% increase on the overall number of visitors in 2023 from the previous show, the Irish Skipper Expo continues to be the flagship event that brings the resilient Irish fishing community together each year.
