Leading Journal of the Irish & UK Fishing Industries

Following their success at the Irish Skipper Expo in February, Tele Radio, a market leader in the design and manufacture of Radio Remote Control solutions, will be exhibiting at the Scottish Skipper Expo for the first time in 2024.

The company was founded in Sweden in 1955 and has since developed into an expansive group, the Tele Radio Group. Providing end-to-end product solutions and services in the field of wireless equipment control and machine communication, their goal is to provide you with products that will add value to your business while at the same time providing impeccable support when you need it.

Rick Steen, Technical Sales Engineer, Scotland and Northern Ireland, gives an overview of the products they will showcase at the event.

“We look forward to providing information and advice on our products and systems, and to meeting new and existing customers at the Scottish Skipper Expo!

“We will be showing a range of products from simple pushbutton controls to complex, customisable, proportional hydraulics and camera feedback systems including the NEW SUPRATEQ TW78 WAIST TRANSMITTER. With a much larger colour screen than our other waist transmitters, plus even smoother images, Tele Radio’s SupraTEQ TW78 waist transmitter meets the increasing demand for better interaction when operating large machinery, installations, cranes, winches, etc. The SupraTEQ TW78 has been specially developed for the demanding marine and offshore environments, where screen size is often important for showing detailed feedback information.

“The transmitter is PLe certified and therefore extremely suitable for work with a high safety risk, such as lifting and hoisting, especially moving heavy loads. The emergency stop function of the PLe/Cat3 level offers additional safety and  feedback by means of LED indication or messages on the 4.3-inch full colour display of the TW78 leads the way with vibration feedback for warning and alarm feedback.”

The SupraTEQ TW78 also features hot swapping technology where the transmitter does not fail during a battery change. The transmitter has two (replaceable, rechargeable) Li-ion batteries, so that failure due to the second battery is prevented. A wide selection of receivers is also available for the TW78, including wired/Harting connector, digital input and output, CAN/485, Modbus RTU, CAN Open/J1939.

With safety as a central focus, Tele Radio put great effort into making their products as safe as possible, ensuring that they meet the highest possible standards.

Rick further explains, “a remote-control solution will put you right were you need to be and not anchored to where the control panel is located. Sometimes having to stay in the operators cabin could mean that you don’t have the best view of the action which can cause accidents or hamper productivity.”

Tele Radio has delivered a number of purposely designed radio remote control systems for hydraulic deck machinery, housed in marine grade stainless steel cabinets and pre-terminated for ease of install.
