There will be a strong representation of first-time exhibitors at Scottish Skipper Expo 2020, ensuring there will be plenty to interest visitors to Scotland’s flagship commercial fisheries show.
So far, 14 new exhibitors have signed-up for the expo, covering areas such as ship-building, steel fabrication, ships’ painting, deck machinery, netting, and software to enhance the efficiency of fishing operations.
Among those exhibiting for the first time is Astilleros de Murueta, a privately owned Spanish shipyard with more than 75 years of experience, dedicated to the design and construction of all kinds of vessels including tuna purse seiners, dredgers, and cargo vessels.
During the last year, Murueta has delivered two factory stern trawlers for Royal Greenland and is currently building a new one. Additionally, they are also building a new live fish carrier for Alsaker of Norway.
Josu Apraiz of Murueta, said: “With these type of vessels under construction, Astilleros de Murueta is attending Scottish Skipper Expo 2020 with the anticipation of meeting new potential owners and customers, as well as with new companies and their technical offices for future collaboration.”
Scottish Skipper Expo 2020 will be held at the P & J Live arena in Aberdeen on 15 and 16 May 2020, opening times 10am to 6pm on Friday 15 May and 10am to 4pm on Saturday 16 May.
