With doors opening in two days, set-up is now well underway for the widely anticipated Irish Skipper Expo 2022. Over 150 exhibitors are set to arrive on-site tomorrow, Thursday, to add the final touches to their stands, ready to welcome visitors on Friday morning from 10am.
The strong exhibitor presence, including over 40 new companies attending for the first time, will ensure there will be plenty to interest everyone, with virtually every equipment and support service sector of the fishing industry represented, including marine electronics, deck machinery, creels and trawl equipment, and so much more.
Sponsored by Irish seafood development agency, BIM, and leading marine insurer Arachas, the event will, for the first time, bring all the exhibitors together under one roof in the spacious exhibiting hall at the attractive new venue of the UL Sport Arena in Limerick ( PO – V94XT66).
There will be vessel displays in the outside arena, giving visitors the opportunity to see at first-hand some of the latest fishing vessel designs on the market. The outside area will also feature displays from the Coastguard and BIM’s Coastal Training Unit, as well as engines, rigging and handling solutions.
Sharon Boyle, Commercial Fishing Manager for show organiser, Mara Media, said: “After two challenging years caused by the pandemic, we are tremendously excited to finally be on-site here in Limerick for Irish Skipper Expo 2022, and we are anticipating a large visitor attendance.
“Irish Skipper Expo 2002 will provide the perfect opportunity for a welcome reunion among fishermen and the wider industry, offering lots of opportunities to conduct business in a friendly and convivial atmosphere, with a bar and catering facility also in the exhibition hall.”
