The final countdown has now begun for Scottish Skipper Expo 2023, which gets underway at the state-of-the-art P&J Live arena in Aberdeen a week today (Friday 12th May).\n\nWith 170 exhibitors from 21 different countries, Scottish Skipper Expo 2023, taking place on the 12th & 13th May will provide an exciting and comprehensive showcase for the fishing industry. Entry is free and we really recommend you pre-register beforehand to beat the queues.\n\nSponsored by the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation, the event will feature exhibitors from virtually every equipment and support service available to the fishing industry and includes a strong presence from first-time exhibitors. This year’s exhibition will also have a number of vessels on display offering visitors the opportunity to check out the designs and features in person.\n\n\n\nThe expo will be officially opened by Mairi Gougeon, the Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, who will then tour the exhibition arena to see at first hand the innovation taking place in the ever-evolving industry.\n\nSharon Boyle, Commercial Fishing Manager for show organiser, Mara Media, said: “Excitement is really mounting, and we are all looking forward to this event getting underway. It is wonderful to see such strong exhibitor interest in the expo, which will ensure that this will be a fabulous show for everyone. After a challenging couple of years, it is important that the UK and wider international industry has a meeting place where productive business can be achieved in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.”\n\n\n\nAt the end of the first day of the expo (Friday 12th May), a show reception will be held at the Douglas Hotel, Aberdeen at 7:30pm. Sponsored by Sunderland Marine and Commercial Oils, the event promises to be the perfect opportunity for everyone to relax and socialise after a busy opening day.\n\nFresh seafood will be supplied by Messers J. Smith Fish Merchants, GJ Jack Seafoods and MFV Sunrise, and expertly prepared by the catering team at the Douglas Hotel. The event, which will feature live music, will be open to all exhibitors and their guests on an invite basis.\n\nScottish Skipper Expo 2023 will be held at the P & J Live Arena Aberdeen on Friday 12th 10-5pm and Saturday 13th May from 10am-4pm.\n\n
