Many vessels are having to change their lubricating oil to a biodegradable one, but Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EALs) may have some serious disadvantages – but don’t worry, for Irish Skipper Expo exhibitor, CJC, has a solution!

EALs may affect the tightness of your standard seals, as many conventional rubber-made seals are not compatible with the EAL, so there’s a serious risk of water ingress to your stern tube, your thrusters, your rudders and your controllable pitch propeller systems.

One unit solves two problems…
Retrofitting equipment in the marine business requires small units. Anyone that has been through watertight doors near the stern tube or thrusters will know what that means.

To provide additional filtration for particulate removal, and breaking a stable emulsion, C.C. JENSEN built the D5 combi unit, a compact plug and play unit, with only one inlet and one outlet,  very easily installed, even in narrow spaces, and ready to work in less than 30 minutes.

The unit will effectively remove any particles and water from the lubricating oil, be it mineral or biodegradable, returning clean and well working lubricating oil to the system.
