Leading Journal of the Irish & UK Fishing Industries

Propeller repair and engineering specialists, Jimmy Walsh Propellers and Marine Engineering, will be on hand at the Scottish Skipper Expo to discuss all your vessel needs.

With 30 years’ experience in the industry, the team, who operate out of Rosslare Harbour in Ireland, carry out repairs on all sizes of propellers for fishing, leisure and passenger vessels. The purpose-built workshop which was opened in 2017 is also easily accessible from all major ports across Ireland and the UK.

Displaying his extensive knowledge of the industry, Jimmy Walsh explained some of the equipment and techniques used by his team to offer first class propeller efficiency to fishing boats.

“We use fully rotating Propeller manipulator allowing the propeller to be rotated in any position necessary; and the entire repair is carried out in one place. We also use a Re-pitch jig to enable a very high success rate and accurate setting of new pitch values and Prop Expert software program from Hydro Comp Inc. to do accurate calculations.

“We have a Hale MRI scanner and dynamic balancing machine, helping us to keep up with the most modern technology in the industry,  www.halepropeller.com. They carry out very successful repairs to fixed and CPP propellers and pitch adjustments, we have measuring and balancing capacity to 3.2 meters.”

As well as offering excellent repair services, Jimmy Walsh Propellers and Marine Engineering also supply new propellers and stern gear.

The team look forward to welcoming you all at stand 87 at the Scottish Skipper Expo.
