Leading Journal of the Irish & UK Fishing Industries

With less than four months to go and over 100 companies confirmed to date, Ireland’s flagship commercial fishing exhibition promises to showcase the very best of the industry’s products and services under one roof.

Taking place in the spacious exhibition hall at UL, there will be a fantastic variety of stands and outside boat displays, including a completed G. Smyth boat, which proved to be a huge hit with visitors at last year’s Scottish Skipper Expo.

Speaking of his involvement in the 2024 Irish Skipper Expo, Gerald Smyth said, “I am delighted to be showcasing our new 9.2m Fast Cat at Limerick next year. We had a great show this year and are looking forward to returning in 2024.”

Sharon Boyle, Commercial Fishing Manager for event organiser Mara Media, spoke of the benefit of having outside boat displays:

“As well as having a fantastic variety of stands inside the venue, having a range of boats and exhibits outside makes the show the perfect one-stop-shop for consumers, as well as a great day out for the entire family to enjoy.

“Having completed boats on display, gives visitors the opportunity to check out the designs first hand and also speak to manufacturers and suppliers while at the show, making the process of ordering a new vessel much easier.”

While the Irish Skipper Expo is renowned within the fishing industry as a fantastic place to carry out business in a professional and relaxed setting, it is also widely known as a social event where colleagues and business associates can meet up and enjoy the weekend together.

Sharon explains, “We strive to create a positive business environment for everyone involved, and our shows have become widely recognised as a well organised professional event with a social side. This year we will have our show reception in the George Hotel in the centre of the city giving visitors and exhibitors and opportunity to explore Limerick’s social scene after the show.”

As well as all of the leading marine companies who have been attending the show for many years, the Irish Skipper Expo 2024 will also feature a number of new companies who recognise the value of the event as the only commercial fishing exhibition in Ireland.
