Sustainable energy company, Daretech, design, build and operate smart hybrid power systems for marine applications.  Based in Cork, the company’s engineering expertise combined with cutting edge technology create sustainable solutions to power everyday activities and lead to better outcomes for customers and the environment.

Supplying systems to marine and aquaculture users since 2020, Daretech’s hybrid power systems allow users to minimise generator running hours by providing power from optimally charged marine certified batteries.

Explaining the benefits of system, Daretech CTO Patrick Grehan says, “Our optimised power delivery reduces emissions and costs. The autonomously operated hybrid system integrates seamlessly with existing equipment with full remote control and monitoring, and the data gathered during operation can then be analysed to deliver peak system performance metrics.”

Daretech has established its position as one of the leading sustainable energy companies and continues to grow its presence in the marine sector, with the company recently winning a public tender to provide an additional 74kWh system to BIM in Q1 of 2023.

Patrick says, “Daretech, with support from SEAI’s 2022 RD&D programme, have been developing our range of hybrid power systems for the marine sector. With electrical requirements currently supplied by diesel gensets there is a significant opportunity to reduce operating costs & emissions in the marine sector.” For project updates and open-source data, check out https://daretech.ie/projects/project-eire

Daretech will be exhibiting at the Irish Skipper Expo for the first time in 2023, with the view of discussing the performance and benefits of their existing systems.

“We want to speak to anybody that is using diesel generators to provide power at their site who are open to explore the cost and emission reduction opportunities presented with the introduction of hybrid power systems,” says Patrick.
