Leading Journal of the Irish & UK Fishing Industries

Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), Ireland’s Seafood Development Agency, is returning as headline sponsor to the Irish Skipper Expo next spring.  The trade show event is taking place at the University of Limerick Sport Arena on February 24 and 25, 2023.

BIM staff will be on hand to provide information about key supports and services available for industry, with particular focus on Brexit Adjustment Reserve funding opportunities for fishers and seafood businesses and practical guidance on how to access them.

Live demonstrations of the digitised version of the BIM developed fisheries dashboards will be on display at the BIM stand.

A model display of selective gear will be suspended over the BIM stand while underwater footage taken during recent gear trials with members of the Irish fishing industry plays on screens.

BIM’s Coastal Training Unit will also be on site delivering safety training demonstrations to visitors and helping to raise awareness of the training available to fishers at its two National Fisheries Colleges and a water safety demonstration in conjunction with the RNLI is planned to take place each day at the pool.

BIM’s participation at this year’s event is supported by the European Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund.
